You can enter the number that has called to see if anything comes up. The free types can get you some information, but they can not give you unlisted numbers, or the numbers of those who opted out of being listed online.
When you have a cellular number on your hands, or an unlisted number, you won?t find much with the free online reverse telephone directory. However, you do have other options. You can try to put the number in a search engine to see what comes up, and many times this can lead you to the identity of the caller. If that doesn?t work, you can use some of the fee based online reverse telephone directory sites. Though you may not find a number, this is your best bet for finding out who someone is when they have taken pains to hide their identity.
If for some reason you are getting harassing or threatening phone calls, do not pick up the phone when that number calls back. That will encourage the behavior. Instead, use reverse telephone directory sites to see if you can find any information. If you can, give that information to the police, never confront the person on your own. If you can?t find the number, talk with your telephone company about what is going on, and see if they can aid you in finding the name that goes with the number.
