    Maple Sugar Candies
Though they can be found year-round, most of the time maple sugar candies are found during the summer and spring. Though there are some places where they produce these all through the year, there are some that have a busy season and take the rest of the year off. The maple for these candies is harvested from the trees during the winter, and then must be processed into syrup and then candies. Though this is found in the south sometimes, it is very big business in the northern US states for those who choose this as a way to make some money. For some, this is a hobby that doesn’t bring in a lot of money, but they love doing it anyway. They make maple sugar candies and syrup to sell around their own community. Almost anyone who loves this type of treat will say that they homemade or local types are the best tasting. There are some large companies that make these all year long and they make good money at it, but this stuff is never quite as good as the local findings. There is a difference in the taste and quality of the maple sugar candies and syrups. You can usually find maple sugar candies in grocery and convenience stores when they are ‘in season’. You won’t think they are cheap in comparison to other candies, but if you really love maple, you know there is nothing like it, and you won’t mind spending a little more for the candies. The syrup is expensive too, but again, people are more than willing to pay for the unique taste. This is why there are many breakfast items like sausages that are flavored with maple. Many love this taste with their breakfast. Maple sugar candies aren’t really for breakfast, but they have the same great taste. They can be strong, and they are something that a person might want to nibble on. The candies tend to melt in the mouth rather quickly, and the taste is very potent. Popping entire maple sugar candies into the mouth at once might be just too much. If you can’t seem to find these locally, there are probably places online that sell them. If you have never had one, but are thinking about trying one, I would recommend them to anyone who loves sweets. They are a taste unto themselves, and something that most definitely an occasional treat.
