    Rangers may force Scottish adjustment
The Scottish campaign will be extended by four days if Rangers FC reach the UEFA Cup final due to an "exceptionally challenging season in terms of fixturing".

No alternative
The Scottish Premier League (SPL) has taken the unprecedented step of publishing two sets of fixtures for the final set of games with Rangers' title rivals Celtic FC having already objected in principle to any extension to the season. However, the SPL insisted that there was no alternative because of the number of postponed fixtures this season.

Scheduling issue
S"It is well documented that this has been an exceptionally challenging season in terms of fixturing," said SPL secretary Ian Blair. "The combination of a number of diverse circumstances has produced unparalleled scheduling problems." Should Rangers qualify for the UEFA Cup final on 14 May, the final round of fixtures for the top six clubs will be played on Thursday 22 May, with Rangers and Celtic away to Aberdeen FC and Dundee United FC respectively. Celtic are currently two points ahead of their city rivals but Rangers have three games in hand.
