Nicole Mary Kidman was born on 20th June, 1967 in the gorgeous locales of Honolulu in Hawaii. Nicole’s father, Dr. Anthony David Kidman is a clinical psychologist as well as a biochemist and has also tried his hand at writing! Nicole’s mother, Janelle Ann is a nursing instructor. Nicole Kidman has a younger sister named Antonia Kidman. She works as a journalist.

Nicole Kidman had a penchant for dancing and learnt ballet at an early age. As time passed, she took up other forms of art such as drama and mime and mastered her skills at the same. She also worked laboriously in her rehearsals to achieve perfection in the various roles.

Nicole Kidman studied at the Lane Cove Public School during her initial years. Nicole’s parents had already taken the decision to move to Australia when Nicole was only four years old. Thereafter she religiously studied at the Philip Theatre located in Sydney. It is also rumored Nicole received a personal letter of appreciation from a member of the audience who watched her rehearse. This was also probably the time, when Nicole finally dropped out of school and pursued acting as a full time career option.

Nicole Kidman got her first breakthrough when she was only fifteen years old. She was spotted in a music video and from there on she bagged many roles in television series. Her first claim to fame was in 1989, when she was seen in the movie, ‘Dead Calm’. This movie got her rave reviews. From there on there was no looking back for Nicole Kidman. ‘Moulin Rouge!’, ‘Eyes Wide Shut’, ‘Days of Thunder’, ‘To Die For’, etc were some of her memorable films. Nicole was also much talked about due to her relation and subsequent break-up with Hollywood hunk, Tom Cruise. Despite the number of rumors that surround her life, Nicole Kidman continues to rule the hearts of many with her impeccable portrayal of characters in Hollywood flicks.
