A New E-mail Address Can Be Different
Technology has created quite a difference in the world we live in. Many of the jobs and tasks that used to be done by hand are now done by machine. What used to take many men multiple hours to complete now can be completed in very short period of time by machines that are operated by computers with precision and consistency. Technology has also vastly improved our ability to communicate with others. Now that there are mobile phones and inexpensive calling plans, people are able to afford more regular contact with those that live a distance away. Also with email you can communicate with anyone anywhere as long as they have access to a computer. It used to be if you relocated you would have to have a new telephone number, as well as a new address. Today a person can move multiple times and you would still be able to access them on their cell phone and email. It is nice to be able to keep this consistency; however there are times when you may chose to go with a new email address. When we first set up our computer system, I was quite na?ve to the workings of the internet sites. I filled out several forms and entered several contests. Soon I was getting fifty to seventy five emails a day with various offers and winnings and allsorts of things. We then found out that we were able to go with our cable company rather than our phone company for our internet services. When the cable person came to our house I asked him what I should or could do about the number of emails I was getting. He asked how many people had my email address. I told him that only two or three of my friends had it. He suggested getting a new email address through the cable service. This new email address would be free like the other one I had been using, but it would not be blacked as often as the other one I had signed up with. He suggested keeping both addresses. I could use the old address for signing up for things on the internet and then check it periodically and give my new email address to friends. This way I would have less junk mail to contend with each day, this seems liked great advice. I now have the two emails and I am much more selective about who I give my new email address out to. After just a few months of having email I cannot believe I ever got along without it. It is so much easier to stay in touch with people. I truly think technology is a wonderful thing.
